Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has highlighted that India has emerged as the fastest-growing major economy over the past 12 years, transforming from being part of the “Fragile Five” in 2013 to leading global growth by 2026.
He credited empowerment, good governance, and inclusive development for this transformation, noting that over 8 crore formal jobs were created between 2017 and 2025, while employment elasticity rose to 1.11 — showing jobs grew faster than GDP.
Mandaviya emphasized youth-focused initiatives such as Make in India, Digital India, Startup India, Skill India, and PM Mudra Yojana, which expanded opportunities for entrepreneurship and skill development. He also pointed out that social security coverage expanded from 25 crore people in 2015 to over 94 crore in 2025.
Key reforms like GST rollout, the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, and the rise of UPI under Digital India have strengthened India’s economic resilience. RBI KLEMS data further shows 17 crore jobs created between 2014 and 2024, underscoring the scale of employment generation.
Despite challenges such as global crude shocks and rupee depreciation, Mandaviya asserted that India’s trajectory reflects a clear shift from fragility to resilience, driven by strong reforms and youth empowerment.
