New Delhi, November 2, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to national security, stating that the country had fulfilled its promise to strike terrorists on their home turf. His remarks came during a public address commemorating the anniversary of the 2016 surgical strikes.
“We vowed to beat terrorism at its roots, and we have delivered on that promise,” Modi said, referencing cross-border operations carried out by Indian forces in response to attacks on Indian soil.
The Prime Minister praised the armed forces for their precision, bravery, and strategic execution, which he said sent a strong message to hostile elements and their supporters.
He emphasized that India’s defense doctrine has evolved to prioritize proactive measures and zero tolerance for terrorism. “Our forces are empowered, our resolve is firm, and our actions speak louder than words,” he added.
Modi also called on citizens to remain united and vigilant, underscoring the importance of internal security and national pride in the face of external threats.
The event was attended by senior defense officials, veterans, and families of fallen soldiers, who were honored for their sacrifices in safeguarding the nation.
