BJP Slams Rahul Gandhi for Allegedly Defaming India Abroad
The Bharatiya Janata Party today targeted senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of repeatedly defaming India during his foreign visits. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala alleged that Gandhi’s remarks overseas undermine the country’s image and credibility.
Poonawala charged that Gandhi often speaks without factual backing or logical reasoning. Responding to Gandhi’s alleged comments on the decline of manufacturing in India, the BJP spokesperson highlighted the government’s achievements in the sector.
He pointed out that India has witnessed a six-fold rise in electronics manufacturing and that exports of electronic goods have surged eight times in recent years. Poonawala asserted that these figures reflect the government’s strong performance and contradict Gandhi’s claims.
The BJP maintained that such remarks abroad weaken India’s global standing and called on the Congress party to clarify its position on Gandhi’s conduct.
