Sajad Lone Appeals for Equal Treatment of Kashmiris Across India
Srinagar, November 20 — Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Lone has appealed to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to ensure that no citizen of India, including Kashmiris, is subjected to harassment in their own country. He said the dignity and rights of every individual must be safeguarded irrespective of region or background.
Lone emphasised that Kashmiris, like all citizens, deserve equal respect and freedom of movement across the nation. He noted that stereotyping and suspicion against people from Jammu & Kashmir undermines the spirit of unity and inclusiveness that India stands for.
Highlighting recent concerns raised by community members, Lone urged the central leadership to take proactive measures to restore confidence among Kashmiris living or travelling outside the Valley. He stressed that the government must ensure a safe and dignified environment for all citizens.
The appeal comes at a time when issues of mistrust and discrimination have been widely discussed, with Lone reiterating that national harmony can only be strengthened when every citizen feels secure and respected.
