Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on July 14, 2026 announced the launch of the Rail Bhoomi portal, a digital platform to streamline land acquisition for railway projects.
The portal, developed by CRIS, will digitize acquisition processes, provide real-time tracking of compensation and notifications, and integrate with IRPSM, IPAS, and HRMS systems for better coordination.
Officials will be able to monitor timelines and compliance through dashboards and MIS reports, ensuring transparency and accountability in project execution.
The initiative also supports land leasing and Right of Way policies under the PM Gati Shakti framework, aimed at accelerating infrastructure development and reducing delays.
Vaishnaw said the reforms will improve efficiency, reduce disputes, and enable faster completion of railway projects critical to India’s growth.
