Five people have been arrested in connection with the blast outside the Punjab BJP office in Chandigarh, with investigators revealing that the accused were part of a Pakistan’s ISI-backed terror module.
The explosion occurred late Friday night, triggering panic in the area. Security forces quickly cordoned off the site, and forensic teams were deployed to collect evidence.
According to officials, the arrested individuals were allegedly working under the directions of handlers based across the border. Preliminary investigations suggest the module was tasked with carrying out disruptive activities in Punjab and adjoining regions.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and local police are jointly probing the case, with intelligence inputs pointing to a larger conspiracy involving cross-border funding and logistical support.
