Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the North East region is witnessing tremendous peace and development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing a public gathering in Assam, Shah highlighted that the region has seen significant progress in infrastructure, cultural revival, and security measures over the past decade.
He inaugurated the redeveloped Mahpurush Srimanta Sankardeva Abirbhav Kshetra at Batadrawa Than in Nagaon district, underscoring the government’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage.
The Home Minister also inaugurated the new Guwahati Police Commissioner’s building, an Intelligence City Surveillance System, and the Jyoti Bishnu Cultural Complex with a 5,000-seat auditorium.
Later, Shah paid tribute at the newly constructed Swahid Smarak Kshetra in Guwahati, honoring martyrs of the Assam movement.
He emphasized that the North East has entered a new era of peace and prosperity, driven by infrastructure projects, cultural initiatives, and enhanced security measures under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
