Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that the United States must exert greater control over Israel to ensure the success of a ceasefire agreement with Iran. He emphasized that Washington’s influence is critical in stabilizing the situation and preventing further escalation in the region.
Abdullah noted that while diplomatic efforts are underway to secure a ceasefire, Israel’s actions could undermine progress unless the US takes a firm stance. He argued that effective American oversight would help build trust and create conditions for lasting peace.
The Chief Minister highlighted that regional stability depends on balanced engagement, urging the US to act responsibly in guiding its allies. He stressed that the ceasefire with Iran represents an opportunity to reduce tensions and foster dialogue, but only if all parties adhere to commitments.
Abdullah’s remarks reflect growing concerns over Middle East dynamics, where India has consistently advocated for peace, restraint, and constructive diplomacy to safeguard global security interests.
