The Congress party has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of lacking the courage to oppose Israel’s recent actions in the occupied West Bank.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said Israel is advancing its “Greater Israel” agenda under the cover of the ongoing West Asia conflict, undermining hopes for a Palestinian state.
He alleged that Israel’s new land registration moves in the West Bank are steps toward formal annexation, dispossessing Palestinians of their land.
Congress criticized PM Modi for remaining silent and failing to confront Israeli leadership, calling his stance weak and damaging to India’s foreign policy balance.
The statement comes amid U.S.-Israel aerial bombings of Iran and Iran’s counter-offensive, with Congress warning that global attention on the Gulf is allowing Israel to consolidate control in Palestinian territories.
