National Conference president Farooq Abdullah has said that the return of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status lies only in the will of Allah, reflecting uncertainty over the political future of the region.
Speaking to reporters, Abdullah remarked that no one can predict whether Article 370 will be restored, stressing that such matters are beyond human control and depend on divine will.
His statement underscores the ongoing debate around the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, which revoked J&K’s special constitutional status and reorganized the state into two Union Territories.
While opposition parties continue to demand restoration, the central government maintains that the move has integrated J&K more closely with the rest of India. Abdullah’s words highlight the uncertainty and emotional weight the issue carries among the people of the region.
