Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Wednesday said the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) fund will play a crucial role in boosting private sector participation and accelerating innovation across key sectors. He said the initiative is aimed at strengthening India’s research ecosystem by encouraging industry-led innovation and collaboration with academic and research institutions.
Addressing a gathering, the Minister noted that the RDI fund is designed to bridge the gap between research and market-ready products, enabling startups and private enterprises to translate innovative ideas into scalable solutions. He emphasised that enhanced private sector involvement is essential for driving technological advancement and achieving self-reliance.
Dr Jitendra Singh added that the government remains committed to creating an enabling environment for research and innovation through policy support, funding mechanisms and institutional reforms. He said the RDI fund will contribute significantly to building a robust, future-ready innovation ecosystem aligned with India’s development goals.
