External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has urged Poland to adopt a strict zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and avoid actions that could help fuel terrorist infrastructure in India’s neighbourhood. His remarks came during bilateral discussions with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski in New Delhi.
Jaishankar emphasized that selective targeting of India was unfair and unjustified, stressing that global partners must act responsibly in countering terrorism. He noted that any support, direct or indirect, to infrastructure linked with terrorism in South Asia would undermine regional peace and stability.
The Minister highlighted India’s long-standing challenges with cross-border terrorism and reiterated the country’s expectation that international partners align with its stance on zero tolerance. He underscored that cooperation between India and Poland should focus on strengthening economic, technological, and strategic ties while ensuring mutual respect for security concerns.
Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski reaffirmed his country’s commitment to countering transnational terrorism and expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation with India across multiple sectors. The meeting marked a significant moment in India-Poland relations, with both sides agreeing to deepen engagement while addressing sensitive regional issues.
