Kashmiri families have appealed to the Government of India to urgently evacuate Indian students stranded in Iran amid escalating regional tensions. With the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran disrupting air travel and raising safety concerns, parents and relatives in Jammu and Kashmir are expressing deep anxiety over the wellbeing of their children studying in Iranian universities.
Families have urged the Ministry of External Affairs to arrange special evacuation flights, similar to those already being operated to West Asia by Air India and Air India Express. They stressed that the situation in Iran is deteriorating rapidly, and students are facing uncertainty over classes, accommodation, and safe passage back to India.
Community representatives highlighted that many Kashmiri students had traveled to Iran for higher education in medicine and religious studies, and now find themselves stranded due to suspended commercial services. They called for immediate intervention, citing the successful evacuation of Indian nationals from conflict zones in the past as a precedent.
The appeal underscores growing concern in Jammu and Kashmir over the regional crisis, with families hoping the government will prioritize the safety of students and ensure their swift return home.
