Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi has reaffirmed that the Indian Army is fully prepared to embrace the vision of Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) and is actively preparing for future forms of warfare. He emphasized that the Army is committed to indigenization, modernization, and technological innovation to meet evolving security challenges.
General Dwivedi highlighted that the Army is focusing on strengthening its capabilities in cyber warfare, space, artificial intelligence, and advanced surveillance systems. He noted that future conflicts will demand multi-domain operations, requiring integration of traditional combat with emerging technologies.
The Army Chief underscored that Atmanirbharta is not only about reducing dependence on foreign equipment but also about building robust indigenous solutions that enhance operational readiness and resilience. He stressed that collaboration with Indian industry, startups, and research institutions is central to achieving this goal.
General Dwivedi reiterated that the Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding national sovereignty and is continuously adapting to the changing nature of warfare. He assured that the force is ready to meet any challenge with confidence, innovation, and self-reliance.
Officials added that the Army’s modernization roadmap includes induction of advanced weapon systems, improved logistics, and enhanced training modules to prepare soldiers for the complexities of future battlefields.
