November 1, 2025 — In a joint appeal, the foreign ministers of Germany, Jordan, and the United Kingdom have called for an immediate ceasefire in Sudan, urging all parties involved in the ongoing conflict to halt hostilities and prioritize humanitarian relief.
The statement comes amid escalating violence between rival military factions in Sudan, which has led to widespread displacement, civilian casualties, and a growing humanitarian crisis.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy emphasized the urgent need for a political solution and unrestricted humanitarian access to affected regions.
“The suffering of the Sudanese people must end. We call on all sides to agree to an immediate ceasefire and return to dialogue,” the ministers said in a joint statement issued after a trilateral meeting in Amman.
The diplomats also expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation and the impact of the conflict on regional stability. They pledged continued support for international mediation efforts and humanitarian assistance.
Sudan has been gripped by conflict since April 2023, when tensions between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces erupted into open warfare, devastating cities and displacing millions.
