Global crude oil prices rose sharply by more than two per cent as the ongoing West Asia conflict continued to disrupt international supply routes. Brent crude futures climbed 2.2 per cent to 111.43 US dollars per barrel, while US crude jumped 2.7 per cent to 114.57 US dollars per barrel in late trading.
The surge came after the Easter holiday as tensions involving the U.S., Israel and Iran intensified, raising concerns over potential supply blockages in key maritime corridors. Analysts warn that prolonged instability in the region could further tighten global oil markets and push prices higher in the coming weeks.
