Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged citizens to unite to save the country from what she described as “darkness.” In her New Year 2026 message, she accused the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus of corruption and mismanagement.
Hasina alleged that the current administration is pushing Bangladesh into crisis through falsehoods, unchecked corruption, and pursuit of personal interests. She emphasized that conspirators attempting to destabilize the nation have been exposed.
Calling for unity, Hasina said that Bangladesh must belong to all its people regardless of religion, class, or ethnicity. She urged citizens to stand together against destabilizing forces and safeguard the country’s future.
The message, shared through the Awami League’s official channels, blended criticism of the interim government with hope for renewal. Hasina wished harmony, happiness, and prosperity for the people of Bangladesh in 2026.
Her remarks highlight the deep political divisions in the country, reflecting both concern over governance and a call for collective resilience in the face of challenges.
