Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers, joined by Imran Khan’s sister, staged a sit-in protest at Factory Naka in Rawalpindi, demanding the release of detained party members and voicing opposition to government actions against the party. The demonstration drew significant attention as supporters gathered in large numbers to express solidarity.
Protesters raised slogans and held placards, calling for justice and highlighting what they described as political victimisation of PTI leaders and workers. Imran Khan’s sister addressed the gathering, urging authorities to respect democratic rights and release those held in custody.
The sit-in caused disruption in the area, with traffic diversions implemented by local administration to manage the crowd. Security forces were deployed to maintain order and prevent any escalation during the protest.
PTI leaders stated that the protest was part of a broader campaign to restore democratic freedoms and ensure fair treatment of political opponents. They emphasised that peaceful demonstrations are a constitutional right and vowed to continue their struggle until their demands are met.
The Rawalpindi sit-in reflects the ongoing political tensions in Pakistan, where PTI supporters have repeatedly taken to the streets to challenge government policies and highlight issues of political accountability.
