New Delhi: India and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to work closely against terrorism and extremist threats, with a special focus on pro-Khalistan activities. The discussions took place during the sixth India–UK Home Affairs Dialogue, held in New Delhi, where senior officials from both sides exchanged views on security cooperation.
Indian representatives raised concerns over the misuse of freedoms by pro-Khalistan groups operating in the UK, stressing that such activities pose risks to India’s sovereignty and public safety. The dialogue also covered broader issues such as organized crime, cyber security, drug trafficking, and illegal migration, reflecting the shared challenges faced by both nations.
Officials highlighted the importance of proactive intelligence sharing and joint strategies to counter extremist propaganda and cross-border threats. The UK side assured India of its cooperation in addressing these concerns, underlining the need for balanced action that respects democratic values while ensuring national security.
The meeting marks another step in strengthening India–UK ties, with both countries agreeing to deepen collaboration across law enforcement and security agencies. The dialogue concluded with a commitment to continue regular exchanges and build a framework for more effective counter-terrorism measures in the future.
