New Delhi, May 25: On the sacred Day of Arafat, India has announced that it stands fully prepared to facilitate the pilgrimage of over 175,000 Hajj pilgrims this year, ensuring smooth arrangements and comprehensive support for the faithful.
Union officials confirmed that extensive coordination has been undertaken between the Ministry of Minority Affairs, the Hajj Committee of India, and state governments to streamline travel, accommodation, and medical facilities for pilgrims heading to Mecca.
Special chartered flights, medical teams, and logistical support have been readied to assist pilgrims from across the country. Authorities emphasized that priority has been given to safety, health, and accessibility, with dedicated help desks and multilingual assistance available at embarkation points.
On the Day of Arafat, considered the most significant day of the Hajj pilgrimage, Indian officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring that every pilgrim can perform the rites with dignity and ease. The arrangements include enhanced digital tracking systems, emergency response units, and coordination with Saudi authorities.
Observers note that India’s facilitation of such a large number of pilgrims reflects both the scale of its Muslim population and the government’s efforts to uphold religious obligations while maintaining international cooperation.
Officials added that continuous monitoring will be carried out throughout the pilgrimage period, with special teams deployed to address any challenges that may arise, ensuring the welfare of all Indian pilgrims.
