External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held discussions with his counterparts from Iran, Germany, and South Korea to review the evolving situation in West Asia and its wider regional and global implications, officials said.
During his conversation with the Iranian foreign minister, Jaishankar exchanged views on recent developments in the region and underlined the importance of restraint, dialogue, and maintaining stability amid rising tensions.
In separate talks with the foreign ministers of Germany and South Korea, the External Affairs Minister discussed the impact of the West Asia situation on global security, energy markets, and international cooperation. The leaders emphasised the need for sustained diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation.
Officials said India remains in close contact with key international partners to safeguard its national interests, including the safety of Indian nationals abroad and the stability of energy supply chains.
The discussions reflect India’s proactive diplomatic outreach as the situation in West Asia continues to evolve, with New Delhi maintaining regular communication with regional and global stakeholders.
