India has dispatched emergency pharmaceutical supplies to the Democratic Republic of Congo to support the ongoing response to the Ebola outbreak. The consignment includes essential medicines, protective equipment, and life-saving drugs aimed at strengthening treatment centers and aiding frontline health workers.
The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that the supplies were sent as part of India’s humanitarian assistance, reflecting its commitment to global health solidarity. Officials emphasized that the aid package was coordinated with the World Health Organization (WHO) and Congolese authorities to ensure timely delivery to affected provinces.
India’s support comes amid rising fatalities and suspected cases across Ituri and North Kivu, where Ebola has spread rapidly. The emergency consignment is expected to bolster local capacity in managing patients, preventing transmission, and safeguarding healthcare staff.
