India is preparing to take stronger action against the growing menace of paper leaks, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi calling for strict measures against those involved in compromising examination systems. The Prime Minister stressed that such crimes affect the future of lakhs of students and cannot be tolerated.
PM Modi said the government is committed to ensuring transparency and fairness in competitive examinations. He assured that a Bill aimed at strengthening action against paper leaks would be taken forward soon, with provisions for fast-track courts and stricter punishments for those found guilty.
The proposed measures are aimed at ensuring speedy investigation and trial of cases related to examination fraud. The government plans to create a stronger legal framework to deal with individuals, organised groups and officials involved in leaking question papers or manipulating recruitment processes.
The Prime Minister said that honest students who prepare with dedication should not suffer because of unfair practices. He emphasised the need to protect the credibility of examinations and maintain public confidence in recruitment and admission processes.
The move comes amid increasing concerns over paper leaks affecting various examinations across the country. Students and aspirants have repeatedly demanded strict action against those responsible for disrupting fair opportunities.
With the proposed law, the government aims to establish a stronger deterrent against examination fraud and ensure that offenders face swift legal consequences.
