External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has asserted that India will exercise its sovereign right to defend itself against terrorism. He emphasised that the country’s security and national interests cannot be compromised in the face of cross-border threats.
Speaking at an official event, Jaishankar underlined that terrorism remains one of the gravest challenges to peace and stability, and India has consistently taken a firm position against it. He noted that the government will continue to adopt decisive measures to safeguard citizens and ensure national security.
The Minister highlighted that India’s stance is rooted in international law and the principle of self-defence, while also reflecting the nation’s commitment to global efforts against terrorism. He added that India has repeatedly called for stronger international cooperation to dismantle terror networks and hold perpetrators accountable.
Jaishankar reiterated that India’s policy is clear: terrorism in any form is unacceptable, and the country will not hesitate to act to protect its sovereignty. He stressed that the government remains vigilant and prepared to respond to any threat that undermines peace and security.
