Tulmulla, Jun 22: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday paid obeisance at the Kheer Bhawani temple in Tulmulla, Ganderbal, and prayed for peace and prosperity of Jammu & Kashmir.
LG Sinha offered prayers at the temple of Ragnya Devi as thousands of Kashmiri Pandits celebrated the annual mela amidst stringent security arrangements.
He also took stock of the arrangements made for the devotees and lauded the efforts of departments and agencies for the smooth conduct of the yatra.
Speaking to reporters, the LG emphasised the importance of preserving peace and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir. “Everyone prayed for peace and harmony in J&K and that the blessings of Mata Kheer Bhawani be upon all,” he said.
LG Sinha expressed satisfaction that the number of pilgrims this year was higher compared to the last few years, reflecting growing participation in the annual festival.
The LG highlighted that devotees have been visiting the shrine for decades to seek blessings and participate in the mela, which attracts yatris from across J&K and other parts of the country.
