Srinagar, March 26: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for releasing ₹5,000 crore as additional central assistance to Jammu & Kashmir. The financial support, he said, will help consolidate the fiscal condition of the Union Territory and ensure timely completion of development projects.
In a statement, the LG noted that the assistance would ease budgetary constraints, strengthen infrastructure, and accelerate economic growth. “I extend my sincere gratitude to PM Narendra Modi, HM Amit Shah and FM Nirmala Sitharaman for releasing ₹5,000 crore as additional central assistance to J&K, which will help consolidate the fiscal condition of the UT,” Sinha said.
The funds are expected to provide significant relief to the administration, enabling faster execution of ongoing projects and boosting long-term prosperity. The support also underscores the Centre’s commitment to the economic stability and development of Jammu & Kashmir.
