New Delhi, November 6, 2025 — Olympians Manu Bhaker and Swapnil Kusale will spearhead India’s 40-member contingent at the ISSF World Championship 2025, set to take place in Jakarta later this month. The squad features a mix of seasoned shooters and emerging talent across rifle, pistol, and shotgun disciplines.
Bhaker, a multiple international medalist, will compete in the 10m air pistol and 25m pistol events, while Kusale will represent India in the 50m rifle three positions category. Both athletes are expected to play key roles in India’s medal campaign and Olympic qualification efforts.
The team includes top performers from recent national trials and international meets, with representation from across states and training academies. Coaches and support staff have expressed confidence in the squad’s preparation and competitive edge.
The ISSF World Championship is a pivotal event in the global shooting calendar, offering ranking points and qualification slots for the Paris 2026 Olympics. India’s shooters will aim to build on their strong performances from the Asian Games and World Cups.
The championship begins on November 20, with events scheduled through early December. The Indian squad will depart for Jakarta next week following a final training camp in Delhi.
