The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has issued an “unconditional” apology after withdrawing a Class 8 textbook that contained inappropriate references to the judiciary.
The decision follows criticism that the content was unsuitable and disrespectful towards the judicial system. NCERT confirmed that the book has been withdrawn from circulation and corrective measures are being taken.
Officials emphasized that the council remains committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that educational materials uphold constitutional values and respect for institutions.
