Jerusalem, May 25: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that Israel plans to intensify its military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, signaling a fresh escalation in the ongoing conflict along the northern border.
Speaking to reporters, Netanyahu said Israel is determined to dismantle Hezbollah’s infrastructure and prevent the group from launching further attacks. He emphasized that the military campaign will be expanded to target Hezbollah positions more aggressively in the coming days.
The Prime Minister noted that Hezbollah’s actions pose a direct threat to Israel’s security, and the government will not allow the group to strengthen its foothold in Lebanon. “We will continue to strike Hezbollah with increasing force until our objectives are achieved,” Netanyahu stated.
Israeli defense officials confirmed that preparations are underway for intensified strikes, with the military focusing on Hezbollah’s weapons depots, command centers, and cross-border capabilities. Security forces have also been placed on high alert in northern Israel.
The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions, with international observers warning of the risk of further escalation. Netanyahu reiterated that Israel’s actions are aimed at safeguarding its citizens and ensuring long-term stability along the border.
Hezbollah, designated as a terrorist organization by multiple governments, has been responsible for severe harm, loss of life, and human rights violations. The group’s presence in Lebanon continues to be a major source of instability in the region.
