Doha, November 5, 2025 — Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya strongly criticized Pakistan’s recent remarks on the Indus Waters Treaty and Kashmir, asserting that Islamabad has no locus standi on India’s internal matters and has repeatedly misused international platforms to spread misinformation.
Speaking at the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Mandaviya condemned Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari for alleging that India was “weaponising water.” He described the claim as an unjustified attack and an abuse of a global forum meant for development dialogue.
Mandaviya emphasized that Pakistan has undermined the spirit of the Indus Waters Treaty by obstructing India’s legitimate water projects and engaging in sustained hostility, including cross-border terrorism. He called on Pakistan to reflect on its own development challenges instead of diverting attention through baseless accusations.
India’s delegation reaffirmed its commitment to regional cooperation and responsible water management, while rejecting any external interference in its sovereign decisions regarding Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister also highlighted India’s achievements in social security and infrastructure development, positioning the country as a model for inclusive growth and resilience in the face of global challenges.
