Advance registration for the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra has begun across 554 designated bank branches nationwide. The registration process allows pilgrims to secure their participation in the sacred journey to the Amarnath cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials stated that the registration facilities have been set up in branches of Punjab National Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, and other authorized institutions to ensure smooth access for devotees. Pilgrims are required to submit compulsory health certificates and valid identity documents during the registration process.
The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has emphasized that advance registration is mandatory for all yatris, as it helps regulate the flow of pilgrims and ensures safety measures are in place along the route. The board has also advised devotees to prepare adequately for the challenging trek through high-altitude terrain.
The annual pilgrimage, which attracts thousands of devotees from across the country, is considered one of the most significant spiritual journeys in Hindu tradition. The opening of advance registration marks the formal beginning of preparations for the upcoming yatra season.
