Union Minister Piyush Goyal said India successfully navigated the international energy crisis by diversifying its energy sources. He emphasized that India’s strategy of expanding renewable capacity, boosting ethanol blending, and strengthening LNG imports helped shield the nation from global volatility.
According to Goyal, India’s record renewable energy growth and push for biofuels reduced dependence on crude oil imports, saving billions in foreign exchange. He noted that diversification ensured uninterrupted supply chains and enhanced energy security during turbulent times.
The minister highlighted that India’s synchronous grid and multi-fuel ecosystem—combining solar, wind, hydro, biofuels, and emerging hydrogen projects—position the country as a resilient energy player globally. He added that this approach aligns with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision of sustainable growth.
