Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged Directors General of Police (DGPs) across the country to enhance professionalism within their forces to transform public perception of the police. Speaking at a recent meeting with senior police officials, he emphasized the need for law enforcement agencies to build greater trust and confidence among citizens through transparent, accountable, and efficient policing.
PM Modi highlighted the importance of adopting modern technologies, training programs, and community engagement initiatives to improve policing standards. He stressed that professional conduct, ethical behavior, and prompt response to public grievances are essential for creating a positive image of the police in society. The Prime Minister also encouraged DGPs to foster a culture of integrity, responsiveness, and citizen-centric service within their forces.
Officials noted that the meeting aimed to align law enforcement strategies with national priorities, ensuring public safety while strengthening democratic values.
