NITI Aayog has released a set of reports focusing on pathways for green transition in the cement, aluminium and MSME sectors. The reports highlight strategies to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency and promote sustainable practices in industries that are critical to India’s economic growth.
Officials noted that the transition plans are aligned with India’s climate commitments and aim to balance industrial development with environmental responsibility. The reports emphasize adoption of clean technologies, renewable energy integration and resource efficiency as key measures for achieving sustainability.
The MSME sector report underscores the importance of supporting small and medium enterprises in adopting green practices, given their role in employment generation and contribution to GDP. Recommendations include financial incentives, capacity building and access to green financing.
The initiative reflects NITI Aayog’s broader push towards sustainable industrial growth, positioning India to meet its net-zero targets while strengthening competitiveness in global markets.
