Punjab Police has arrested three wanted gang operatives after they were brought back from Malaysia in a coordinated operation with central agencies. The accused were taken into custody at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport following their arrival from Malaysia.
The three men, identified as Jaspreet Singh alias Jas Behbal, Ajay Singh and Pawandeep Singh, were wanted in connection with several criminal cases, including murder, extortion and offences involving explosives. Police said the suspects were associated with the Davinder Bambiha gang and had links to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI.
According to Punjab Police, the accused were also allegedly involved in a planned hand-grenade attack in Ludhiana. Investigators are now expected to question them about their alleged role in the cases and their links with other members of the network.
The arrests were carried out by the Punjab Police Counter Intelligence Wing’s Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell in coordination with central agencies. Officials said bringing the accused back to India was part of ongoing efforts to track fugitives operating from abroad and disrupt organised crime networks.
Further investigation is underway to establish the extent of their involvement in the cases and identify any other individuals connected to the alleged network.
