Bucharest/New Delhi, November 4, 2025 — Romania has announced plans to establish a structured pathway for employing up to 30,000 skilled Indian professionals annually, marking a significant step forward in bilateral labor cooperation and workforce mobility.
The initiative aims to address Romania’s growing demand for skilled workers across sectors such as construction, healthcare, IT, engineering, and services, while offering new opportunities for qualified Indian talent to contribute to the European economy.
Officials from both countries are working to streamline visa procedures, recognition of qualifications, and integration support to ensure a smooth transition for Indian professionals entering the Romanian job market. The framework is expected to include language training, cultural orientation, and legal safeguards for workers.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs welcomed the move, citing it as a testament to the global recognition of Indian expertise and professionalism. Romanian authorities emphasized the mutual benefits of the arrangement, noting that it would help bridge skill gaps and strengthen economic ties.
The employment channel is set to be operational by early 2026, with recruitment agencies and government bodies coordinating to implement transparent and ethical hiring practices. Further details on eligibility, application procedures, and sectoral quotas will be released in the coming weeks.
