The Regional Transport Office (RTO) Kashmir has issued a rare advisory urging people to avoid visiting its offices amid extreme heat conditions sweeping the Valley.
Officials stated that the advisory was issued to safeguard public health, as prolonged exposure to high temperatures could pose risks to visitors, especially the elderly and those with medical conditions.
The RTO emphasized that essential services will continue to be available online, encouraging citizens to use digital platforms for applications, renewals, and other transport-related services.
This move comes as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of severe heatwave conditions in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, prompting authorities to adopt precautionary measures.
Authorities reassured the public that the advisory is temporary and will be lifted once weather conditions improve, underscoring their commitment to both service delivery and public safety.
