Amid escalating airstrikes in Iran, the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has urged External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to ensure the immediate evacuation of Indian students stranded in the conflict-hit country. The appeal highlights growing concerns for the safety of young nationals pursuing higher education in Iran.
JKSA representatives stated that the situation has become increasingly precarious, with students facing uncertainty over travel and communication. They emphasized that urgent intervention is required to safeguard lives and prevent further distress among families back home.
The association has formally raised the matter with the Ministry of External Affairs, requesting coordinated efforts with Indian missions abroad to facilitate safe passage for students. They also called for the establishment of dedicated helplines to assist parents and guardians seeking updates.
Officials noted that the government is closely monitoring developments in West Asia, with contingency measures being discussed to protect Indian citizens in affected regions.
