Chennai, November 11, 2025 — Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has accused the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) of spreading misinformation regarding central government schemes. Addressing a public gathering, she emphasized that several welfare initiatives launched by the Centre are being misrepresented to mislead citizens.
The Finance Minister highlighted that the government has consistently worked to ensure benefits reach the intended sections of society, including farmers, women, and marginalized communities. She asserted that attempts to distort facts undermine public trust and called upon political parties to engage responsibly in public discourse.
Sitharaman reiterated that transparency and accountability remain the cornerstone of the government’s welfare programs. She urged citizens to verify information through official channels and assured that corrective measures will be taken to counter false narratives.
