The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall and thunderstorms across several parts of the country over the next few days.
According to the advisory, Northeast states including Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh are likely to witness heavy showers, while parts of East and Central India such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh may see moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder activity.
Southern states including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka are expected to receive scattered heavy rainfall, with warnings issued for fishermen due to rough sea conditions.
Northwest India, including Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi, may experience thunderstorms and light rainfall, while heatwave conditions are forecast to persist in Rajasthan and Vidarbha despite scattered showers elsewhere.
The IMD has urged residents, farmers, and local authorities to remain alert, citing possible damage to crops, temporary structures, and power lines due to strong winds and lightning.
With monsoon activity intensifying, the IMD has advised precautionary measures to ensure safety and minimize disruption across affected regions.
