The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially declared the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026 results today, June 16, 2026.
A total of 13,343 candidates have qualified for the Civil Services Main Examination, which is scheduled to begin on August 21, 2026. This year’s vacancies stand at 1,016, slightly fewer than last year’s 1,087.
For the Indian Forest Service (IFS), 1,046 candidates have been shortlisted against 80 vacancies, compared to 2,116 candidates for 150 vacancies last year.
Qualified candidates must complete the mandatory online application process between June 19 and June 28, 2026, to generate their e-admit cards. Failure to do so will prevent them from appearing in the Mains.
The UPSC has emphasized that all shortlisted candidates’ eligibility remains provisional until verification of documents and details is complete.
