Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has affirmed that the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is witnessing steady progress, with key construction milestones being achieved across multiple sections. He highlighted that the ambitious high-speed rail corridor, India’s first of its kind, is advancing in line with the government’s vision of modernizing rail infrastructure.
Vaishnaw noted that significant work has already been completed on viaducts, bridges, and station structures, while tunneling activities and track laying are moving forward as scheduled. He emphasized that the project is being executed with world-class technology and strict adherence to safety standards.
The Minister underlined that the Bullet Train will drastically reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, boosting connectivity, trade, and tourism. He added that the project represents a transformative step toward India’s future of high-speed rail travel, aligning with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat.
Officials confirmed that the government is closely monitoring progress to ensure timely completion, with dedicated teams working on land acquisition, engineering, and operational readiness. The project is expected to serve as a model for future high-speed rail corridors across the country.
