The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has invited suggestions and comments from stakeholders on the proposed Income-tax Rules and Forms related to the Income Tax Act, 2025, as part of the process to operationalise the new legislation.
In a statement, the CBDT said the draft rules and forms have been placed in the public domain to seek feedback from taxpayers, professionals, industry bodies and other interested parties. The move is aimed at ensuring clarity, simplicity and ease of compliance under the new tax framework.
The proposed rules cover various procedural and compliance-related aspects, while the draft forms are intended to align return filing and reporting requirements with the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 2025. The CBDT said suggestions would help fine-tune the framework before final notification.
Stakeholders have been encouraged to examine the drafts carefully and submit their inputs within the stipulated timeline through the designated platform. The tax authority said all feedback would be duly considered.
The Income Tax Act, 2025 seeks to modernise and simplify India’s direct tax system. The consultation process, officials said, reflects the government’s commitment to transparency and collaborative policymaking.
