Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged Chief Ministers of the Northeastern states to prioritize artificial intelligence and machine learning in their development agendas, stressing that these technologies are vital for preparing new generations for the future. He highlighted that AI-driven innovation can transform education, healthcare, agriculture, and governance in the region.
Shah emphasized that the Northeast, with its youthful population and growing digital infrastructure, is well-positioned to harness emerging technologies. He called for collaborative efforts between state governments, universities, and industry to build skill-based ecosystems that empower youth and create employment opportunities.
The minister also underlined the importance of integrating AI and machine learning into public service delivery, noting that these tools can enhance efficiency, transparency, and citizen engagement. He added that the Centre will extend support to states in building AI-ready infrastructure and training programs.
