NIT Srinagar has achieved a significant milestone by climbing to the 31st position among all engineering colleges in India and securing the 21st spot among government engineering institutions in the India Today Engineering Rankings 2026.
The institute recorded an overall score of 193.9, with strong performances in admissions (181.2), placements (91.9), and fees & value (189.6), reflecting its growing reputation and student outcomes.
Prof. Babar Ahmad, Chairman NIRF at NIT Srinagar, described the achievement as a “significant milestone” that highlights the institute’s sustained progress in academics, research, and industry engagement.
Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia credited the faculty, students, and staff for their collective efforts, emphasizing the institute’s focus on quality education, cutting-edge research, and industry-academia collaboration.
Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman noted that the improved ranking is recognition of consistent efforts to strengthen the academic ecosystem and infrastructure at NIT Srinagar.
Nodal Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar added that the climb in rankings reflects the institute’s sustained commitment to academic excellence and quality education, positioning NIT Srinagar among India’s leading engineering institutions.
