Andhra Pradesh, November 1, 2025 — A tragic stampede at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Kasibugga, Srikakulam district, claimed the lives of eight women and a young boy during a religious gathering on Friday.
The incident occurred when an iron railing collapsed near the temple entrance, triggering panic among the devotees. The sudden rush led to multiple injuries and fatalities as people struggled to escape the chaos.
Local authorities, including police and emergency services, responded swiftly to the scene. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, and the area was cordoned off for safety and investigation.
State officials have expressed deep sorrow over the incident and assured that a thorough inquiry will be conducted to determine the cause and prevent future tragedies. Compensation for the victims’ families is also being arranged.
