Doha, November 7, 2025 — Union Labour and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur highlighted India’s strides in social development during his address at joint sessions organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and NITI Aayog in Doha.
Thakur underscored India’s commitment to inclusive growth, employment generation, and youth empowerment, citing flagship initiatives such as Skill India, Fit India, and labour reforms aimed at improving workplace conditions and expanding social security coverage.
He emphasized the role of sports and vocational training in fostering community engagement and economic resilience, particularly among marginalized groups. The Minister also shared insights on India’s collaborative efforts with global institutions to promote sustainable development and equitable labour practices.
