SRINAGAR, Nov 21: Senior leader Ruhullah Mehdi has asserted that peace in Kashmir cannot be achieved through disempowerment, stressing that genuine empowerment of the people is essential for stability and reconciliation in the region.
Speaking at a public gathering, Ruhullah highlighted that policies which undermine democratic participation and weaken institutions only deepen alienation. He argued that sustainable peace must be built on trust, representation, and respect for the aspirations of the people.
Ruhullah noted that empowerment through political, social, and economic avenues is the foundation of lasting harmony. He cautioned that attempts to silence voices or curtail rights risk creating further divisions rather than fostering unity.
He emphasized that Kashmir’s future depends on inclusive governance and meaningful dialogue, where citizens feel valued and heard. According to him, empowerment is not merely a political slogan but a practical necessity for ensuring justice and stability.
