The second Khelo India Beach Games are set to begin at Ghoghla Beach in Diu from January 5 to 10, 2026, with the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu hosting the event under the technical supervision of the Sports Authority of India and national sports federations.
The Games will feature competitions across eight sports, with six medal events—beach soccer, beach volleyball, beach sepak takraw, beach kabaddi, pencak silat, and open water swimming—while mallakhamb and tug of war will be conducted as non-medal events.
Organisers have indicated strong participation, with more than 2,100 overall participants and over 1,100 athletes expected to compete, representing a wide cross-section of states and sporting disciplines.
The opening day festivities at the Blue Flag-certified Ghoghla Beach include cultural showcases and athlete contingents, with messages underscoring the initiative’s role in strengthening India’s sporting culture; the event commenced with a special note from the Prime Minister and a formal declaration at the opening ceremony.
The first edition witnessed close competition among states, and the second edition aims to build on that momentum with streamlined schedules, improved facilities, and enhanced spectator engagement at the Arabian Sea beachfront venue.
