The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is celebrating its Foundation Day today, marking decades of contribution to India’s defence and strategic capabilities. Established in 1958, DRDO has played a pivotal role in advancing indigenous technologies across missiles, aircraft, naval systems, and electronic warfare.
On the occasion, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh extended greetings to scientists, engineers, and staff of DRDO, lauding their dedication to strengthening national security. He emphasized that DRDO’s innovations have significantly enhanced India’s self-reliance in defence production.
The Defence Minister highlighted that DRDO’s achievements, including the development of missile systems, combat vehicles, radars, and advanced materials, reflect the organization’s commitment to AtmaNirbhar Bharat. He urged the scientific community to continue pushing boundaries in research and innovation.
Officials noted that DRDO is observing the day with events across its laboratories and establishments, showcasing technological milestones and ongoing projects. The celebrations also include recognition of outstanding contributions by scientists and teams.
